Design workshops occurred within community to receive local development inputs. These inform what would be expected for the urban design of this community. Balancing between the developer’s pressures, the architect’s visions and people’s expectation for quality of life and environment dictates much of the urban design solutions. The strong commercial corridor is designed in a way that not only forms the backbone to this community but also the spine to the larger district and town (100,000 populations). The East-West axis - the landscape axis that links the community to the East and to its future extension towards the West across the lake - creates traffic, air, and water movements as well as visual linkages. Park system, central and lakefront, together with the green network (green streets, sidewalks, and pocket gardens) reduce pressures of density and development while establish locally based habitat besides being residents’ recreational grounds. The lakeside shopping precinct opens the development to the lake; providing daily convenient and amenities, it anchors the lives of people in this community. See link below for Architecture.
